  • Arlington County or Arlington is fast becoming the hottest market in metro Washington with home prices up 25% since the announcement of the Amazon HQ2.
  • Fun fact. Arlington once was part of Washington DC and shares six bridges with the Capital. It is considered the second largest “city” in metro Washington and the smallest county by area in the United States.
  • Arlington is made up of a number of great neighborhoods. Be it Rosslyn and Clarendon with their high-rises and walkability along the Orange Metro line. Or all the great residential neighborhoods in North and South Arlington. Like right here in Lyon Park.
  • Oh, and don’t forget Crystal City home to the New Amazon Headquarters. Just in case you didn’t hear Amazon is going to create 25,000 new jobs at their new HQ2.

Market Data:

Over the past year thirteen hundred twenty-six (1,326) homes and townhomes have sold here in Arlington for an average sales price of $996K and with an average of twenty-eight (28) days on the market.

The highest of all those sales was for a 4,000 sf, 1938 built six (6) bedroom, seven (7) bath home on Lee Highway for $4.4M. Something tells me that was a land deal and you can expect some new builds there in the future.

Now for Condos, Arlington has condos, there were fourteen hundred seventy-two (1,472) units that traded for an average sales price of $447K and had an average of twenty-five (25) days on the market.

The highest condo sale for Arlington this past year was for a 3,000 sf, three (3) bed, three (3) bath penthouse at the ultra-luxe Turnberry Tower for $2.95M.
