Neighborhood features:

  • The Edgemoor Club is at the heart of one of Montgomery County’s most desirable neighborhoods Edgmoor.
  • The tennis and swim club was founded in the 1920’s on land set aside by developer Walter Tuckerman who purchased a large farm and subdivided the area. The club became the center of top-level Washington tennis especially after members of the Dumbarton club in Georgetown move over en-mass in 1929 when that clubs land was sold.
  • Edgemoor offers a wide variety of homes, be it modern or traditional, on wide streets with mature trees, and is right next to downtown Bethesda; Giving the residents great access to all sorts of shopping and dining. Talk about location. 
  • Edgemoor to most folks is the area around the Club but can also include parts of the Bradley Hills neighborhood.

Today we are including the area bound by Arlington Road to the east, Wilson Boulevard to the north and Bradley Boulevard the west and south.

Now for some real estate! Twenty-four (24) homes have sold here in Edgemoor this past year for an average sales price of $2.2M and with an average of thirty-four (69) days on the market.

The highest of all those sales was for an almost 10,000 sf, circa 2014 custom craftsman with six (6) bedroom, five (5) bath home with extraordinary craftsmanship on a 30,000 sf lot for $4.7M here on Fairfax Road where Edgemoor meets Bradley Hills.

Now for Condos. Edgmoore does not have any but directly across the street here in the Bethesda Row area there have been thirty-two (32) units that traded for an average sales price of $886K and had an average of sixty-two (62) days on the market.

The highest condo sale for this past year was for a 3,500 sf, three (3) bed, four (4) bath unit at the ultra-chic Lauren condominiums for $3.3M.
